The Detroit Lions clinched the NFC North and secured the No. 1 seed in the NFC playoffs with a dominant 31-9 victory over the Minnesota Vikings. Rookie running back Jahmyr Gibbs led the charge with four touchdowns and 139 rushing yards.
The Lions’ defense effectively contained Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold, who completed just 18 of 41 passes for a season-low 166 yards. Minnesota failed to score any touchdowns, settling for field goals despite multiple red zone opportunities.
Lions quarterback Jared Goff finished 27-for-33 with 231 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. With the win, the Lions advance to the playoffs as the top seed, while the Vikings will face the Rams in Los Angeles as the No. 5 seed during Wild Card Weekend.
