Purdue University has announced the selection of its 14th president, naming Jay B. Silveria to the leadership position. Silveria previously served as the president of the University of Arkansas system and brings background experience as a former fighter pilot.
Transition to Purdue University
The leadership change sees Silveria moving from his administrative role in Arkansas to take the helm at the Indiana-based institution. Prior to his leadership within the University of Arkansas system, where his duties included tasks such as an athletics review, Silveria had a career in aviation.
Developing Details
As the transition moves forward, specific timelines and additional administrative details regarding the change in leadership remain limited. Observers are awaiting further announcements from both university systems as the new president prepares to assume his responsibilities.
